So, here are my 5 best tips for achieving anything you want in life.
1. Seek knowledge, not results
If you focus on the excitement of discovery, improving, exploring and experimenting, you are basically fueling your motivation. However, if more of your focus is only on results, your motivation will just die the minute you hit a storm.
So.basically the key is to focus on the journey, not just the destination. Put more focus on what you are learning along the way and where you can improve.
2. Make this life journey fun
Life is just awesome on its own! The minute you make it too serious, there are high chances you will start carrying a heavy emotional weight. As a result, you will lose perspective and get stuck most of the time.
3. Avoid stagnating thoughts
Your thoughts have so much influence on your feelings and feelings basically determine you get to view your work. We all have a lot of thoughts in our heads, and we always have a choice of which ones to focus on.
Therefore, we need not focus on the ones that will make us emotionally stuck (ii.e fears, doubts) but positive ones that will move you forward (excitement, trying new things, stepping out of your comfort zone etc).
4. Never rely on others
You should never ever expect others to do it for you, not even your friend, family or partner. Everyone is busy with their own need. Believe me! No one will achieve your goals for you or make you happy. It all starts with you, buddy!
5. Focus on commitment, not just motivation
Ask yourself these questions. How committed are you to your goal? How important are they to you, and how much time are you willing to sacrifice in order to achieve them? If you find yourself fully committed, motivation will follow.
“Don’t limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. You can go as far as your mind lets you. What you believe, you can achieve.” — Mary Kay Ash
